Why HomeCoach? Our Values
Why HomeCoach?
Ernest HermingwayThe best people possess a feeling of beauty, the courage to take risks, the discipline to tell the truth, the capacity for sacrifice. Ironically, these virtues make them vulnerable; they are often wounded, sometimes destroyed.
At HomeCoach we use the hashtag #BeYourBest. This is because we believe that when you are your best, you always do your best. When you are your best, you will always do your best. When we are at our best, life regains meaning and we secrete feel-good hormones ( Endorphins, Dopamine and Serotonin) that further enhance our happiness and love for life. These hormones also enhance our immune systems and help us stay healthy as long as we are in our purpose.
So our chiefest purpose among others is to help people and organisations be their best by espousing our core values; Authenticity, Empathy, Freedom, Solution-design Thinking, Visionary and Modern Leadership. I will be sharing articles on these values as time goes on. Please, stay pinned.
We (I and the team I work with) strongly believe that these virtues when fully spread will increase global human happiness. Why is happiness important ? Happiness is important because thoughts are nobler during happiness. Most of our work will be in the third world, a population of around four billion humans with yet very low human happiness indices. Africa is at the center of this and we are beginning from Nigeria. This is because we believe that balance between the first and third world is important for a sustainable Earth.
For us at HomeCoach, we are very excited with our intentions. We are also very happy at the methods we will be using to achieve them. Chief among these methods is technology that will be facilitating human-to-human methods.
In our opening quote, we see the vulnerability in #BeYourBest. So we are designing out these vulnerabilities and helping people develop their capacity for vulnerability. Confusing, right?Vulnerability is an awful word with both negative and positive connotations chief among them is openness. We humans love people that are open and because we are not perfect, when a person is very open their negative sides come fully expressed sometimes more than their positive sides. This endangers many who operate at their most authentic capacities. So the work is; how do you help people who are at their most authentic states yet help them manage the dangers that come to help as a result of this authenticity?
In most of the third world, passionate, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and skilled people often live and die poor. This is because passion and enthusiasm also births vulnerability in societies and environments where mediocrity thrives. In Nigeria such a person is disdainfully or derogatorily called an 'Oversabi', a 'SabiSabiboy', a 'Sabiboy' or a 'Sabiman'. If you live in any other part of the third world and you can relate with this, please tell us in the comments section what such a person is called. I have been a victim of this and will be sharing a few stories soon together with the stories of others within my influence. Please, don't expect any objectification or name-calling in the stories. They are only meant for us to draw lessons.
The quality of societies and environments depend on their capacity to appreciate, imbibe and apply knowledge. We want to improve living quality in the third world by helping people who dare to be vulnerable in being their best have access to value. From subject teachers to sport coaches, from healthcare practitioners to nutrition experts to yoga instructors, from cannabis growers to porn art which some call Tantra (Yes, some people think these 'trades' should legalized). We will also be helping religious people like Pastors, Imams and Budhadistas especially those with new insights on religion and spirituality. Atheists and Agnostics who want to push their expert arguments will be welcome.
Also at HomeCoach we believe that home is where you spend most of your day time and we will be giving a new definition to jobs with the purpose of making jobs more human. We believe that a human being is intrinsically good until it is consistently proven otherwise. Do you believe these too? Tell us in the comment section.
The only things we will not compromise are those values that make us truly human like love, faith, hope, self-restraint, happiness, authenticity, empathy (not sympathy; yes this distinction is very important and I will discussing a lot about it)
We are currently exploring several possibilities to achieve this from Cryptocurrrencies to newer API's to USSDs.
It is a journey we have began and we are not looking back.
